Liseta Hatika is a master tailor and stylist with over two decades of experience in preserving and reconstructing traditional GjirokastĂ«r costumes. Together with her husband, Aurel Hatika, she manages the artisan shops âRrobaqepesi â Atelie Lizetaâ and âArbĂ«ror Lizetaâ in the old bazaar of GjirokastĂ«r. Their collaborative efforts have been instrumental in reviving the intricate designs and craftsmanship of southern Albanian attire.
Highlights:
- Has created over 50 traditional costumes from southern Albania, with 28 exhibited in the museum zone of Gjirokastër.
- Participated in national and international fairs, receiving recognition from the Ministry of Culture.
- Known for reconstructing traditional clothing such as the "Pirpiri" costume and that of Ali Pashë Tepelena.
- Donated a collection of folk costumes to the Municipality of Gjirokastër, showcasing her commitment to cultural preservation.
